6th Panamerican Logistics Conference
The conference will be held on May 22, 23 and 24, 2013, at Hotel Almirante, in Cartagena, Colombia. This event will count with the participation of Paul Kent, an authority on port privatization and regulation. Kent has directed port and logistics projects in over 45 countries. His expertise covers institutional reform, restructuring and organization of ports, legal and regulatory issues, as well as competitive assessments and strategic planning. He has developed several tools that have been useful in making decisions by political leaders, regulators and private sector operators, such as the Rules of Competition in Ports, a tool for monitoring anti-competitive behavior, which later was used as the basis for much of the World Bank's Reform Toolkit.
Paul Kent also led the development of a diagnostic tool for transportation logistics, FastPath, whose patent is pending, with him as co-inventor . This tool has been implemented in more than 35 transportation corridors. Before joining Nathan Associates, Paul Kent was Associate Director of the Louisiana State University National Ports and Waterways Institute. Nathan Associates Inc. is an American company known worldwide for its consulting services in planning, infrastructure, economy, industry, business and international development, among others, and has a career path of over 60 years in the market.
The Pan American Logistics Conference has established itself as one of the most significant in the sector, due to the level of its academic content. Annually attended by about 250 people involved in different logistics processes of companies in order to update their knowledge and create networks of information and add value to their management.
